Some people should not open their mouths in public

Overheard an extremely rage-inducing conversation in a restaurant the other day. Completely inappropriate. I was really tempted to say something, or start a loud and pointed conversation of my own. Was kind of too shocked to say anything, but....gah. Instead I will vent about it here.

Some old white guy was sitting at a booth near us. (I'm sorry to stereotype, but he pushed all of those overprivileged and abusing it buttons.) He had already had a long conversation with the server about long waits at doctors' offices that involved discussion of how much they charge for castration. His wife had already scolded him about polite restaurant conversation.

Outside the restaurant, a 20- or 30-something African American woman in tights, fancy wellies, and a long-sleeved shirt walked by. (It later turned out she was picking up a child from the bus stop.) Mr. Asshat started complaining about her supposed lack of hygiene and how can people go out in public like that, etc. I'm still not exactly sure what he was talking about. Maybe because he didn't like how she dressed in combination with her race? I don't know.

Then came the kicker. "How would you like to be her gynecologist, huh? Some people have no hygiene. I would hate to be a gynecologist."

At which point if I was his wife I would be tempted to tell him to schedule a castration right then and there. Or tell him that if he found lady bits that disgusting he wasn't getting any of mine ever again. Or just divorced him right there, because that was a really nasty racist and misogynistic thing to say and it was probably part of a trend.

I'm not sure if it's worse that he even thought the above or that he lacked a filter so much that he said it out loud. Later (once I thought about perfect comebacks) I was tempted to start talking about unhygenic prostates or something. I just....gbalhaghaklgaglhae. *headdesk*
