Signal Boost: Sundress Publications 501(c)(3) application

Sundress Publications, a publishing collective that publishes Best of the Net and six other publications, is raising the money they need to become a 501(c)(3) non-profit (which would give them tax exemptions and other benefits). If you have a couple of extra dollars to spare please consider tossing it their way. If you don't have any extra right now, please consider signal boosting.

Thanks!

(not to do with me, just passing the signal along!)

My understanding is that they are applying for federal 501(c)(3) status in addition to state status. One website notes that the cost for federal 501(c)(3) status can range from $200-$850 or more not including legal consultation, state fees or incorporation fees.

One of my friends from high school, T.A. Noonan, is one of the editors of Sundress Publications. I was the original poster. :)

...huh, you guys are right: http://www.irs.gov/charities/article/0,,id=232771,00.html

...I am staring blankly in surprise because 1) I incorporated one in 2010 and do not recall major cash being spent (and it would have been mine!)...I'll check the records...and 2) I work for a lawyer...I guess the brain damage is winning this race...!

No worries. Working in the legal field can definitely eat you brain. Law school has certainly eaten mine. :D
