Bite-sized cleaning community

I don't know how I missed [personal profile] jumpuphigh 's wonderful community before, but [community profile] bitesizedcleaning  is quite wonderful. It encourages me to do what all the occupational therapists kept telling me to do...which is do short (5/10/15 minute) segments of cleaning rather than my usual monthly exhausting spurts. (I basically tried to do all the things. All at once.)

Typical cleaning schedule for me before: Hm, I should dust the bedroom because my partner and I are both allergic to dust and there is suddenly a lot of that around. Oh, but first I have to declutter the dressers. Wait, now I've done this I need to shred these papers. And the floor is dirty too, I'll swiffer it. Hm, that means I should wash the rugs. Now that I've done all this, the sheets probably have dust on them. I know, I'll change the sheets, too. Now that I'm doing laundry anyway, I should gather all the dirty clothes and sort them...except I seem to have disintegrated into a puddle on the floor. Whoops.

Anyway, hopefully the bite-sized schedule will really help break this trend. I haven't figured out what my "touchstones" are yet, but I'll ponder that this week. For now, I am going to try to clear some clutter off my desk...for five minutes. Maaaaybe 10, but after a break in between.

Thank you so much, [personal profile] jumpuphigh !
