Yarn I am thinking of keeping; or experiments in natural dyes
I experimented with natural dyes for the first time the other night. (I used an aluminum pot so it would help set the color, rather than playing with some realllllly toxic metal in my kitchen.)
Here are the results...

Approximately 40 yards of *very yellow* tumeric-dyed blue-faced leicester chunky-ish handspun wool.

Approximately 67 yards of sort of antique-d/beige/fawn/off-white blue-faced leicester fingering-weight-ish handspun wool
I am kind of in love with both of them, so they will either be gifts or used by myself. I am thinking of doing some gradations of color in yellows/oranges/reds to experiment with different natural dyes, and then making a shawl out of them.
The second one I'm not so sure about, but it's just so soft and lovely...mmmmm...
Thanks to everyone who helped with the natural dyes advice!
P.S. All I can think is, I made those.

If you're looking for more color inspiration, think about different flower colors you like - zinnias tend to have gorgeous shades, for example. What colors combine well in flower boxes / flower arrangements will also likely combine well on people. :o)

And that beige is nice too. But I've been into neutral colors lately.
