These are things I think about quite a bit as a knitter/spinner/general fiber artist. This article also really makes me want to play with linen and rectangles.

Other things to think about: my blasted HoA bans clotheslines outside, which means washing your clothes by hand is that much harder.

Thoughts that I have had on the subject on my other blog: Pros and Cons of Handspun Yarn #1

I like making the one dress I've made six or seven times, but fitting pants for dh is just the worst.

OMG, that post is fascinating in a MILLION different ways. <3

It's a McCall's pattern. I can look it up for you later. Still in print, last I looked. I like the sleeveless collarless version, but it also has that options. It's a princess seam dress. I've also taken the zipper and back seam out since I don't need it :D But yes, we can talk about that pattern. I can show you the dresses I've made and wear.

Ugh. Why does fabric stuff have to be so fascinating? I don't even like to sew clothes, but I could talk about construction ALL DAY LONG. Ok, must go sew quilts. Or something. <3

I once read a book that was supposed to help non-Japanese people living in Japan. The point at which I realised that the book actually mean "US people living in Japan" was when they talked about how Japanese people usually dry their washing outside and/or on their balcony. I can't believe that they actually *ban* outside clotheslines though! If anyone tried that here there would be a Hills Hoist riot!
