Our (small-ish) kitty rescue has found forever-homes for 93 cats this year (and there are still a few adoptions pending). ALL three of our foster cats, have been adopted (well, except for Ms. Maddy, who we are currently fostering and leaning ever more towards keeping because she is just that adorable and Chance is moving from hissing stage to meowing to get into her room stage so IDEK. She just. She makes *everyone* smile even though obviously having a gangrenous tail amputated is srsly a justifiable reason for being cranky and hiding in your closet as much as you want.)
Also, Ms. Haley, the Border Terrier we fostered for 2.5 months earlier this year, is thriving in her forever home. She has all the tennis balls she wants, goes for 5 mile walks *every day*, and gets lots of snuggles. So that is also extremely gratifying.
P.S. If you use Amazon.com and you don't already participate in Amazon Smile which donates a teeny tiny fraction of your purchase to non-profits so Jeff Bezos can sleep at night, please consider adding our cat rescue as your Amazon Smile designated non-profit. Totally no pressure, but I thought I'd mention it, because cats. You can try clicking here but if that link is not static then you can go to the cat rescue homepage and click on the left hand sidebar where the Amazon Smile logo is.
/PSA, and sorry to pair it with adorable animal photos but I keep having a cat step on my keyboard and try to steal my tea so it's hard to get one post up let alone two (and I still have to do the cat room cleaning/feeding schedule for the week. Did you know Maddy likes opening all the browser tabs ever?)
Animal Feel Good Photos:

Bubba (left, the gray fluffy one) and Chance (right, my black kitty of love and stranger danger) sitting on two stools in the kitchen because stools = food and counters = not food. Also Bubba is kiiiiind of not aware that jumping on stoves is a bad plan. We fortunately avoided hot stoves during his stay.

Roscoe and Chance in the window. Roscoe is the GIANT black kitty in the foreground napping, Chance is the small-medium black kitty in the background watching birds outside.

Miss May, or Queen Maeve as we deemed her because of her take-charge attitude, with some toys and one of the scratchers. She actually found a home via dreamwidth where she has other cats to boss around who were in search of someone to boss them around. Last I heard, she was in kitty paradise. (I keep having mental pictures of her being fanned by palm leaves while atop a pile of toy mice, but maybe that's just me.)

Haley, our first ever foster, is the aforementioned Border Terrier who now gets 5 mile walks. Which is waaaay more than any dog is getting from me these days.

For good measure, here is puppy Sarge, my sister's hound mix puppy. I do not have pictures of her second dog, who seems to be there to stay.

Also of course there is Amelié, my mom's kitty the Correction's Officer, who is a black cat who may or may not be part Bombay cat. I have more recent photos but they are not uploaded yet and partner has my phone and getting it involves leaving the room with the foster kitty who is already trying to steal my tea.

Maddy, who we are doomed because we are picking out alternate names for which means we are probably keeping her but that is okay because I lurv her, is here getting tummy and chin rubs. She likes to scooch along the floor trying to get closer because she doesn't quite gauge the length of human arms correctly and why can't we reach the best bits?

And of course my kitty baby, Chance. <3 <3 <3
tw: happy-sad message to Rogue who passed away last year, maybe skip this part if you are teary already or if animal passing is hard for you right now

Oddly, or perhaps not, none of them would have been in my life if Rogue hadn't died just over a year ago and left a gaping hole in my life. (I mean, palliative care for a 16 year old dog who takes nearly as many pills as I do semi-willingly, has low appetite, requires diapers, and has trouble with stairs takes a lot of person-hours is what I'm saying. Plus there are many hours of dedicated belly rubs.) So thank you, Rogue, for helping us help these other critters out, even though some of them are cats and they never understood that you just wanted to play *so badly*. Also some of them were puppies and they can be so annoying because they get in your face all the time, and we shared your toys with that Haley dog. I know you had the biggest heart possible, and it's what you would have wanted. Your people are being well looked after, even though it takes a menagerie and they will never replace you.
