Here's a belated post of a lot of the things I've been playing with, creativity-wise. It's a mix of sewing and knitting and the sad thing is, it's not even everything. I've also been playing with zippered bags, but some of those are super sekkrit and one is holding my nascent makeup collection (ok, mainly tinted lip balm) and I'm too lazy to dig it out). However, here are things that I *do* have photos of...

My first sweater for an adult! Made for me, it ended up having 3/4 length sleeves because my mom was all, "Those are totally long enough" and I was all, "Are you sure? They come up when I bend my arms." And she was all, "It's just because you're petite and you're not used to sleeves that fit you." But anyway, it still looks awesome and I don't feel like making them longer. So yes. The color is not completely representative in this photo, but it's been so cold that I am rarely *not* wearing the sweater and partner has been less than compliant about taking photos of me wearing the sweater. The pattern is called "Brick" (too lazy to link) and quite easy, it's a seamless top-down raglan and I did the medium size in about a month where it was basically my only project. YMMV.

Currently I'm working on a second one of these, which is a fingerless glove pattern that I improvised from another pattern. They are to match my color affection shawl and keep my waaaarm. I am knitting fast to finish them, because I am motivated by the cold.

I did my first picot bind-off! It was not that hard, although kind of awkward managing the needles and took about twice as long. But I feel it was worth it. *g*
I have also been playing with free machine embroidery, which is basically doodling with a sewing machine.
Here's a Rorschact test for you: What do you see in this doodle?

I was aiming for a monster, partner sees a sun.

Another free machine embroidery play project, this time melded with the beginnings of maybe a rag quilt, only not one of those cheerful or twee ones but a more Halloween-y one. I think. We'll see what it turns into. I am not quilting it, it is quilting me, if you get the idea...
And that's what's going on here right now in my impromptu studio.
