Knitting update

untonugganTrying to keep things on the cheap for now while I figure out my likes/dislikes. Working on the headband thingy someone suggested (too lazy to find the link right now.) I made the swatch for it to check the gauge, which makes me feel like a responsible knitter.
Also, I think I am probably going to try to have two knitting projects going at once: one that is quick and easy and immediately satisfying, and another that is more complex/challenging and longer-term. I believe there is an article on Knitty that suggests doing this.
I have another small relative on the way, so I'm thinking baby blanket for the more challenging project. Not necessarily because the pattern I choose will be complicated, but because it seems like it will take longer to do.
Finally on the knitting front...thanks for all the suggestions from everybody! They are immensely helpful!
