- Tea, glorious tea
- Went swimming earlier this week! It was warmer than the Ocean, which was good for my companions but less good for me. Still fun!
Though I still need to write what my Gran calls a "stiff letter" to the Park Authority about the accessibility stuff at that pool. - Helped save a dog from a hot car yesterday! Adorable Portuguese Water Dog. So glad we were around.
- Chance is getting even more confident and comfortable, and among other things, has: found a perch in the kitchen; started giving my mom kisses; discovered not only how to open and close the drawer that formerly held his treats, but also how to remove his clicker from it.
- My mom got Sarge an appointment with our awesomesauce!thorough!whycan'tshebemydoctor vet, so maybe we'll figure out what's going on with him (because Giardia does not cause all of the symptoms he was having last week, nope it doesn't, *avoids TMI*). And my sister can't stop us because she'll be on vacation.
- Chats with friends!
- Waking up to a cat on my chest licking my nose. (Which is definitely better than when he hopped on my bladder at midnight-ish last night.)
- Partner is home! We might see Maleficent this weekend and/or How to Train Your Dragon 2.
- Doing absolutely nothing traditional for the Fourth of July weekend if I can help it.
- On my poncho-cape of glory, I am almost done with the first pocket and that leaves: second pocket, finishing, picking and sewing on buttons, DONE.
ETA: Also yesterday there was a TURTLE in the rain garden. XD

Date: 2014-07-03 08:30 pm (UTC)Good for you (and for the dog) for saving it from a hot car! Do you now about Red Rover and their info fliers and campaign? http://www.redrover.org/mydogiscool/fliers
Of course it doesn't help get a dog out of a car who really shouldn't be, but if you have some of the fliers with you (I carry them around, though I haven't used any yet) you can at least leave an informative note for the person whose car you had the police break into to save their dog. ;)
YAY on massive knitting progress!
I hope you enjoy your traditional-stuff-free 4th! I will likely be in the house, all windows closed, several fans on, and music playing from a bit before dusk on. Our dogs *hate* fireworks, and while they're illegal in our city, that doesn't stop people rom setting them off. And the cops are usually too busy to respond. ::sigh::

Date: 2014-07-03 09:04 pm (UTC)I will certainly print out some of their fliers! Thanks for the link.
Partner pointed out that the cops might take a bit to get there so she made me look in the two nearby open stores first, and the owners were ~getting ice cream~ while their dog was in a ~hot car~. I mean, granted, almost night time but *windows not cracked* and over 80 degrees outside. *bangs head against keyboard* It looked like a couple, and the dude was trying to do the white guy entitlement thing of intimidating me into going away ("How do you know he's hot?") but I didn't let him, and then the woman he was with started feeling all sympathetic/worried about the dog so he went and opened the car (grumpily). *bangs head against the keyboard again and kind of wishes we had called the cops so they could have gotten a citation*
:DDD I feel like I'm in a black hole of knitting, but I keep trying to remind myself that *almost done*
I do not think Chance will be a fan of fireworks, as he did not like the thunderstorm we had earlier. *sigh* but then, maybe the Tropical Storm whatever will rain out the fireworks and prevent some air pollution?
Hope you are doing well!

Date: 2014-07-04 12:47 am (UTC)I am usually a black tea person, though occasionally I drink green. I am limited by finding something that is decaffeinated because Me + Caffeine = Bad Combo (sets off various health things, grr). I try to find Fair Trade stuff if I can or suchlike, but omg Fair Trade + Decaf + Black + actually available in a local store for a price I can afford regularly as opposed to just "for special" tea = HA. ummm, so usually I'm a Typhoo or P.G. Tipps or some sort of Twinings kind of person, though occasionally we go to the Persian grocery store and there's some other brand that's really good in a fancy box that's also from London apparently? IDEK. Anyway, I usually go for either some sort of generic "something something breakfast" (oh and Trader Joe's Decaf Irish Breakfast is surprisingly good!) or Earl Gray (Grey? IDEK). For green tea, I am a big fan of GenMaicha (the stuff with toasted brown rice). Also, I really like Korean Barley Tea.
That was a big long ramble about tea. <3

Date: 2014-07-07 03:21 am (UTC)I'm so glad you helped the dog. People never seem to get the message that this is not an okay thing to do. sigh.
