There is even some stuff in the comment thread on networking with social anxiety/introversion, so if you are interested I would check it out. (Even if you're not job hunting, it's a good post.)
aaaaw, I was hoping it would be helpful for people! although yeah, for certain people in my meatspace social circle (and dw, for that matter) the networking thing is really hard so...yeah.
For people who know people but don't know how to translate that into jobs is probably a great post! Just. a;ldgj How do you meet people I have no idea. ^^;;;;;
Oh yeah, that is a tough one. I was walking the dog yesterday and there was a really nice seeming person who came out and talked to me and I kept thinking loudly in my head, "Geek! Right there! Talk to her! Possible friend person!" But the voice was so loud that all I did was smile and nod in a friendly manner...but yeah. Whoops. So now I need to catch her again somehow...maybe leave Geek paraphernalia in front of the house and wait until she comes out and gets it?
ga;j I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN omg hoooow do you dooo iiiit. Online at least you can just leave comments in journals or whatever and SOMEHOW OR OTHER sometimes you make a friend? It's even harder in meatspace, though. :(
