Work-in-progress weekend update
Apr. 5th, 2013 11:09 pmI haven't finished any projects lately, mainly because omg all the dizzies. However, I thought I'd give you a sneak peak of what I have been doing besides playing computer games. Just because, you know, photos! Fun!
So first off, the targhee/art batt that I spun a bit ago is knitting up really nicely. I am making a hat. Usually it would take me an afternoon to knit this (it's on US #10 needles, which are pretty sizeable making the knitting go quickly). However, I've had to pace myself to a round or two at a time.
Anyway, here goes:

The bottom half of a hat knit in a "twist" yarn of cream and a multicolored yarn. The hat is still on the needles, which have purple point protectors on them. The background is a gray table.
Next up are some singles that I am still making technically (as in, oh hai there's still more to spin! yay!), but I had to wind some of the yarn off the spindle because they were tooooo full. I am making two different colors and then I am going to ply them together in another twist yarn.
Before anyone asks, I didn't dye them myself. *g*

Two balls of yarn on an ironing board, the cover of which is white with blue and grey rectangles. One is a light blue, the other a multi-hued purple/pink with "glitz" (ie shiny bits).
Then I got extra impatient about seeing what they would look like combined, so I started to ply them together. When I say "started", I mean did so much that the spinning-related callus/bruise on my right hand came back.

A top-whorl drop spindle that is full of a twist combining the two yarns mentioned in the previous picture. It rests on the same ironing board. The remainders of the balls of yarn sit next to it.
So that's what I'm working on right now. That, and I had a story idea while waiting in the lab today SPOILERS ABOUT MY IDEA to get bloodwork (which didn't even happen omg) about a lab test for vampirism and someone who kept being seronegative but being sure she was a vampire. Or a borderline vampire. Not sure where that will go, but it's an interesting plotbunny. /END SPOILERZ ABOUT MY IDEA

Date: 2013-04-06 02:27 pm (UTC)Luscious indeed! I have no idea right now, because I don't know how many yards I'm going to get (it's roughly 4 oz of fiber total, but the length is halved...). So it will kind of depend. Probably some small accessory, like a cowl or a hat, unless I find another yarn that compliments it well, in which case I may make yet another shawl. *g* Thanks for asking!
