Waiting at the doctor and trying not to inhale because the damn drug company rep is drenched in cologne. Fortunately he is leaving now, but he has left a cloud of what smells distinctly like patchouli in his wake. Only it's not /quite/ patchouli, because that smell doesn't give me headaches. *grumps* Perchance I shall mention it to my doctor so she can mention it to the drug companies.

In other news, I cast on for my awesome poncho and made great progress with it while watching Downton Abbey and X-Men movies. Despite the fact that: knitting lace and cables in front of the TV. Then I went to knit night and I fucked up the pattern somehow. I think somehow I'm out of sync on where I am in the lace and cable patterns or something.

Anyway, a lifeline is definitely called for. *sigh* so I could be making great progress on my knitting at the doctor's except I was too brain dead to fix things last night, and today I am not going to mess with lifelines where I may get interrupted.

The bonus is that I am pretty sure if got gauge and love the pattern. Also the yarn is yummy.

What the hell? Don't people get it by now that people are sensitive to scents? I had to stand WAY THE FUCK BACK from someone at work the other day. I don't care if it's rude. I still have to get through the day, after all. And especially a drug rep, and especially at a doctor's office...

Sooooon I will not have to deal with people like that. Soon, my precious.

I am excited for pictures of awesome poncho. ooooh man.

I meant to say in reply to your earlier post: that poncho / cape thing *is* awesome! Live the cabling; I hadn't noticed the lace, so clearly I need to go look again! And you are *very brave* knitting anything other than garter stitch, stockinette, or simple ribbing while watching something! My mother can do it, but then she's awesome. Clearly you are, too! And *yay* lifelines; I think that most of the time I've put one in I haven't needed it, and when I *haven't*, I have. I wonder if that's because the added security of the lifeline makes me less stressed and less prone to mess up, or if it's my usual expectation of "plan for mess-ups and then you won't need the plan."

*So sorry* about the silly drug company rep and his cluelessness about scent! I don't like actual patchouli much at all (though I don't *think* it give me a headache--I dislike it enough that I usually try to leave its sphere of influence before I find out) and I seriously doubt that "not quite patchouli" would be a good change. I'd think that "no scent" would be a basic rule for drug reps visiting doctors--especially something like allergy doctors, or chemical sensitivity doctors, and then once the rep's made that connection, maybe they'd make the "other doctors" one?

Ugh, patchouli. Not a fan even in mild doses. I'm surprised a drug rep would be so thoughtless, but on the other hand people.

I hope you manage to sort things out with the poncho.
