Yesterday was a rainy day, so my partner and I put aside our to-do list for a nice day of knitting by the fire. Or at least, that was what we attempted to do. We had to shuttle a few houseplants around that usually live in front of the fire.
Then my dog decided a fire log was edible, because he could not read the label that said they were "NOT for human or animal consumption."
He's fine, the relaxing afternoon just involved calling the vet and then giving him an emetic (hydrogen peroxide) to make him throw up chunks of fire log and paper and bile. We managed to confine it to the tile of the kitchen floor.
After all that was over, we knit in front of the cozy fire. My dog enjoyed laying in front of it, as most animals do. I kept telling him, "See, that was what you ate. The thing that lights on fire!"
