Rules/Guidelines:

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the wishlist!

Let me say two things first though:- and rules/guidelines. This is meant to be "an updated wishlist that people can access all year, without stress", and all comments will be screened by default unless you explicitly give me an okay to unscreen.
1. It is okay to want nice things. Post your wishlist! You don't have to be/do something special to "deserve" one! Just accept that sometimes people want to give you nice things! Because it makes them feel good, and/or they think you are rocksauce, or: because!
2. It is okay to not give someone what they want. People can be broke, out of energy, too busy, or simply go "eh, I'm not feeling particularly close to this person" and shrug and scroll past. Doesn't make them bad.
Rules/Guidelines:
- I won't post more than 10 list items.
- I'll keep my list up to date - e.g. remove (or set apart, or strike through) granted or outdated wishes.
- I won't expect anything. People aren't obligated to fulfill my wishes, just like I'm not required to fulfill theirs. It's not a popularity contest.
- I'm going to thank people, either privately (phone, email, private message) or publicly in this entry. In case you do NOT want me to mention your name, please let me know somehow!
My Wishes
Tangibles
- Yarn or roving. In particular, I like blue, purple, and green and have a particular fondness for soft. I don't really care whether or not it's machine washable or not, but at the moment I have a plethora of tiny yarns and would appreciate yarns that are worsted weight. (If its' super cool, I also have a stash of some sport/DK and some chunky yarns, but I'm hoping that getting enough yarns in the same weight will allow me to knit things like afghans or sweaters or who knows what.)
- If you can't/don't want to pick a yarn yourself, will gladly accept gift certficates of any amount to WEBS yarn or nerd girl yarns.
- Dreamwidth points are always nice
- I like stationary from far-off places
- I constantly run out of stamps, especially the pretty ones. I typically use Forever stamps and International Letter stamps.
- If you like wish lists, I do keep an amazon.com wish list up for my family's general use that you are welcome to peruse. (My brother, it is the only way he shops now.)
- Snail mail (which I will gladly send in return, if desired).
- Chatting with me on AIM or gchat, which helps with social isolation due to mobility issues.
- Creating things yourself! Photos of anything that you have created, be it knitted, baked or the photograph itself! (Similarly, posting your own writing when my brain has the brain cells to concentrate on fiction.)
- Commenting on my posts, particularly ones where I post photos of things I've created. Or am having a bad brain/pain day.
Things which I probably won't remove from the list, because they always make good presents:

Date: 2012-09-17 04:00 pm (UTC)When you reach your flickr limit the oldest images will drop off your flickr photostream but they'll still be available as images posted to other sites SO post images instead of links to flickr. Example from 2008 so these images dropped off my flickr photostream a loooong time ago:

Date: 2012-09-17 10:54 pm (UTC)I shall aim to write you an autumn poem when I have more creative than just before bedtime, though! (Yes, not the best of times to check my dwircle.) <3

Date: 2012-09-18 01:01 am (UTC)<3 for any poem you manage to write. (Also, I know, why is it that I always think, "checking dwcircle before bed won't take any time?")

Date: 2012-09-18 04:56 pm (UTC)Hopefully I can manage a good one! Or several. Most of my seasonal ones deal with spring or winter. (I wish I knew! It took longer for me because I've still been battling the bout of comment-issues I've had. >>)

Date: 2012-09-19 06:32 pm (UTC)I'd love to see some of your other seasonal poems.

Date: 2012-09-20 12:32 pm (UTC)Would you mind terribly much if I sent them to you via email rather than as a PM or aught? They're not poems I'm comfortable sharing publicly for a few reasons (I like them too), so I thought I'd coordinate how you'd prefer them. Sadly, no progress yet on the autumn poem itself. I got side-tracked by the super-shiny story idea. ^-^;

Date: 2012-09-20 12:45 pm (UTC)P.S. I won't share them around.
P.P.S. I understand about the shiny things.

Date: 2012-11-27 11:44 am (UTC)When you start a bed, it's best to fill the container about 2/3s full of bedding that's just a little damp, but nowhere near drippy (that is, squeeze a handful together. It shouldn't drip no matter how hard you squeeze). Give the bedding a good "fluffing" before filling the container so there's plenty of aeration.
When you add food, add in a new spot each time. Move some of the bedding aside (but not down to the base; you still want a good base of bedding), add the food, then cover the food up with the bedding you moved aside.
The worms eat the bedding as well as the food (to them it IS food); one reason for wetness is there's no long the bedding to soak up moisture like a sponge.
Until it balances, leave out the especially wet foods. When you find pooling moisture, add dry (not moistened) bedding to soak up the liquid. If worms are drowning, you may need to add quite a lot of dry bedding and leave the lid off overnight or for a day to help things dry out.
You're welcome to PM me.

This is definitely really helpful.
